Hello everyone…
My website at Artbeat is currently receiving a facelift and will soon become a combination of website and weblog. This came about in answer to my request for a website with more interactive capabilities. My son [Andrew] of Andromeda is doing a great job…with a considerably complex (albeit waffling) brief from his mother (!)…to bring the new website/weblog to life in its new format. But rather than wait…I thought I’d just get started with the blog side of things…
As I love to write as much as I love to paint, this new weblog will allow me the latitude to write about the things that interest me… the things that concern…the things I feel strongly about and those that simply delight! The topics discussed will not always be art related…and may vary from day to day as each new topic presents itself.
My enduring interest in people and places, current affairs and health… in addition to the arts… is bound to keep the conversation leaping and lurching about somewhat! But variety being the “spice of life” this should at least keep things interesting.
I am looking forward to plenty of comment from you…as I am always eager to learn about the flip side…and hope that we can become friends through the exchange of ideas and opinions.
Please enjoy browsing through my paintings when they come online….and you can read a little bit about me in my Artist Statement. Please come back often as this place will be ever-changing in response to the art…the commentary…the way life is…and pretty much the way things are on any given day!

Jean, this is exciting, love the humor and serious combination that you have started here. Not sure where to post, did not understand the ‘gerneral post’ thingy. Anyway, you are off on a good start. As soon as my personal website is up, will be eager to link to you.

Yes… there are still some bugs to iron out… but that will be ongoing while I clunk around here trying to find my own way round too! Thanks again… you’re a gem!

What an exciting project you have started for yourself. I hope it’s going to bring you new friendships and open new doorways for you to display your wonderful art. With your very friendly disposition, I know this new blog will be a success and create a comfortable room for other artists to congregate while they are enjoying their morning’s cup of coffee. Hal… thank you for your very kind words. Your enduring support is always very much appreciated… you know that. I am so pleased that you can feel the atmosphere here… it is what I had hoped for… to create a warm and welcoming place for artists/friends to gather over a coffee. I feel we are too far from the cafes of Paris to have it any other way! btw. Andrew is the boy in the cartoon… he has always marched to the beat of a different drum! LOL Thanks again…
