I have been busy producing more cartoons for the NewMatilda competition but won’t show them here until after the Comp… (or maybe before if they don’t get into the Heats).  It’s getting close now with only two heats to go and the professionals are out in force pushing us wannabees to the back of the queue.  Too bad.  C’est la vie!

In the meantime… I came across this film clip which I simply loved.  It put a smile on my face in a challenging week that was sadly lacking in reasons to… except of course for the making of cupcakes above which always puts a smile on my dial (((chuckles)))

Similar to the Improv Everywhere crew’s stunt in Grand Central Station New York… this was a fascinating exercise (and heartwarming insight) into human behaviour. I think they pulled it off well…

take a look HERE and see what you think!

In the midst of the world’s gloom and doom it seems there is still occasion for joy in the indomitable human spirit. This clip made me feel so proud and happy to be a human bean! (grin)

I am positively glowing… how about you?

Sheer Joy!!! Thanks, Jean, for starting my day with a smile. :) I like your new blog header. It’s nice to see your pretty, smiling face on here. Maybe it’s been there a while and I missed it, but I’ve seen it now. Hey, do you still want that book about the pig Christopher Hogwood? If so, please email me your mailing address again, and I will ship it. If you haven’t already bought and read it, you will enjoy it … and I’m happy to ship it. Have a wonderful day!

Wonderful clip, Jean. Like Vernita I smiled, but it also brought tears to my eyes. Just lovely! Regarding the the pros edging out the non-pros, just remember the Richard Bach (”Jonathan Livingston Seagull”) quote I posted to my blog a short while back: “A professional is just an amateur who didn’t give up.” And let’s not forget the true meaning of amateur (from the Latin), someone doing it for the love of it. Oooh, I want want of those cupcakes.

Hi Jean, what an absolutely glorious clip and what fun it would have been to be a part of it (performer or audience!). It has brought a smile to my face!! And as for your cup cake..that is the most beautiful cupcake I have ever seen, almost a shame to eat it!! Thanks for the lift to start my day!! XXX

So the antwerp clip has gone round the world. I especially liked the Nigerian woman who started to dance. roger

Hi Everyone.

Sorry for taking so long to come back to you. I got back last night from the Sydney Writer’s Festival. My first time there. It was a busy weekend but lots of fun.

Vernita… thank you… I would love that book. I’ll be in touch.

John… thank you. That’s sound advice and lovely encouragement. The cupcake’s in the mail! LOL

Jools… wouldn’t it be fun to be a part of something like that? Ever since I saw Improv Everywhere’s fist gig I wanted to be involved. Maybe someday we’ll get the chance… or maybe we should stage our own. Whaddayareckon? We can do that!

Roger… so sorry I was unable to surprise you! I loved her too… the event may have been staged but it sure did stir up a lot of spontaneous joy on the sidelines. LOL

Hey Jean..I’m into that for sure!! A bit of random theatre sports!!

hahaha… sounds great. Now for a venue…. ummm….. actually the Sydney Writer’s Festival would have been a good place. Big crowds of unsuspecting people milling in queues and all in a dedicated space! LOL On a side note… it’s great to see the printed word is still a drawcard with such a large and dedicated following. It’s surprising.

I think that writing will always be revered as a skill and will always be popular. So many people have said to me over the years that they wished they could write (just as many have said that about painting too!). Its almost like it is a mythical trait in people!

The festival would have been an amazing thing to witness Jean and would have more than likely been a responsive crowd too!

It was Jools… and they were! I’ve been trying to knock a report out for the blog (about the festival)… but somehow the words won’t come. I have been busy though and would you believe jet lagged (?) even though Sydney is only an hour and a bit away! LOL Watch this space… I’ll see what I can come up with.

Just let it flow Jean!

LOL I did Jools… and it’s already up! Almost 1000 words OMG… 10 more like that and I’d have a novel.

Sorry guys… I will try to keep it more compact and concise in future. I do tend to get (somewhat) carried away! LOL
