[...] I also met a great couple [I had not known before] and spoke at length with them on the boat coming back. I casually mentioned that I had been out at Ellis Beach the previous Sunday setting up to paint and taking photographs and how windy it had been. I wrote about it here The Bright Side.
Thanks Roger :-)

Yes they tell me there has been a holdup with US customs. Heavens knows why there would be a problem... but I guess you never know these days what represents a threat to national security! Will pull out all stops after the 15th if it hasn't come by then.

Wow... a Morgan! Haven't seen one of those in a while. I used to have an Austin Healey Sprite Mk1 Bugeye (actually I had two - one for racing and one for driving fast to work) They were great little cars. So much fun. But I was always getting wet. Finally traded them both on an MG midget with (wait for it) wind up windows and a radio! It also had a pull up soft top which - have got to admit - was rather convenient when it rained. Would love to see this commission when you get it done. And the one of Butch of course. Will keep you posted on the calendar Roger. Hope to get it to you before Christmas.

Great photos! I have been getting nice e-mails from red bubble but no calendar yet. MY jazz calendar has been getting a fair response. I haven't been making much art lately although I have requests. One is to do a wc of a couple I met in their Morgan sports car. The other is for images of my retired racing greyhound Butch to be auctioned off by the group that placed him with me. Also placed with me is a young man from Provence who is doing his senior year at Bath high school. He is quite an athlete and plays on the bath soccer and basketball teams.

Hi John. Aussies are a pretty friendly bunch and terribly misunderstood. Grin. And Red Bubble is such a good website to deal with. I will contact them tomorrow and see what progress has been made on your calendar. Thanks for hangin' in there :-)

BTW, Jean, the calendar has not yet arrived, but I got another really sweet e-mail from the company, apologizing for the delay. (I'm not being sarcastic, I love their e-mails, very civil. If only everyone on the world were like them it'd be a better place.) They said it should be here by the 15th.

Hello Ty... so lovely to see you here and thanks so much for commenting :-)

I guess this Blog is the place where I put my best foot forward. It's the place where I put on the brave face... roll up my sleeves and just get on with it. I have found throughout my life that no-one really wants to hear otherwise. [Grin]

Like most things in life though... the simpler things look... the more difficult they were to accomplish. I try. It occasionally pays off in positive feedback... and that is why I so very much appreciate the lovely support I receive here and beautiful comments like yours.

Thanks again.

Hi Jean,
Received my alert to your new posting today. First of all - great art clip and excellent choice of music. I really like your work. I don't know whether you realise it - but your lifestyle and tropical living environment would be the envy of so many people around the world. While none of us is without life challenges - and each one of us occasionally strikes a brick wall behind promising-looking doors - I think you're a lucky girl in many regards. Good looking, talented, fun, articulate and you have amazing friends. I wish you luck with getting your life into a gear/speed you'd like - and in the direction you'd like to go! Looking forward to seeing you along your journey, Ty

You're welcome John. It's 3 in the morning here and I couldn't sleep so decided to get up... go with the flow... and get this post up without further ado. So sorry you are not well. I have one word for you (well 2 actually) VITAMIN C - and plenty of it. Six level teaspoons a day in a glass of water some cod liver oil caps and you will be better in no time flat. Signing off over and out from Dr. J over here on the beach in sunny Queensland Australia! (Seriously though... rest up and get well okay?) Life is too good to be sick... :-)

Hi Jean,

Your vid is especially timely and welcome here right now as we head into one of our L.A. rainy periods. (I've long said that a TV weather person in L.A. only needs to say "Tomorrow more of the same," and will only be wrong a handful of times during the year.) The dogs balk at going out and I'm fighting a nasty cold, so it was nice to be reminded of the summery beach, even with the wind blowing. Thanks for that.
