I was feeling a bit down in the dumps the other day and then I met Pogo and it was all UPULAR from there!

Pogo is an emerging electronic music artist in Perth, Western Australia. He is known for his work recording small sounds from a single film or scene and sequencing them to form a new piece of music.
I defy anyone to stay down for long after seeing and hearing this. Enjoy! Love to all… x

I reckon the movie would have done well to have this as it's theme or title song. It's just such a delightfully upbeat sound… and goes well with the quirky characters. I just loved the movie UP. I loved how the old man loved the love of his life so much that he honoured her by taking the adventure she had always dreamed of. Such a beautiful story line in a world seemingly filled to the brim with hard edges and sharp realities.
That's just what I think anyway.

But “Pogo” for me will always and forever be Walt Kelly's Pogo the Possum and his friends in Okefenokee Swamp, like Albert the Alligator and Mam'selle Hepzibah the skunk. My father, brothers, and I would sit around the dinner table enrapt as my mom read the latest strip to us aloud.
It is cute isn't it? The clip has had something like 1.5 million views since it went up on 25th December. I love the concept that the music doesn't actually exist… as it isn't music at all… just sound bites… and has been created from small bits excerpted from the movie soundtrack (most of them not music at all) and then spliced together [for the want of a better word] into an entirely new work. The resulting sound is delightful [and oddly uplifting] So cool.
Pogo the Possum and his friends in Okefenokee Swamp sound like real characters. You mom certainly gave you lots of enchanted memories to keep. How wonderful!
